West of Scotland Cat Club Show
Saturday the 15th of December 2007
Premier Pontaby Ferragosto (Gus)
What a fantastic day for Gus! He won his final Grand Premier Certificate and his title in a class of 4 super boys and also gained the PC and 'Best of Breed Usual Abyssinian Neuter' in an Open class of 4 cats. Gus won all 1st prizes in his side classes too!
Pontaby Campanula (Cami)
Another new title in the family, gained by our beautiful blue girly Cami, who is Gus's half sister. She gained her third and qualifying Challenge Certificate and 'Best of Breed Blue Abyssinian Adult', plus a 2nd and a 3rd in side classes. Cami's win is extra special because she is the first ever blue Abyssinian bred by us to gain a title.
Grand Premier Pontaby Pasticcio (Jasper)
Jasper was entered in the Imperial class but unfortunately didn't get anything, but it was his first ever try and there were 4 other stunning boys in the class so we cant complain. Jasper did win his PC and 'Best of Breed Sorrel Neuter' though.
Pontaby Sognastella (Sonia)
Sonia is really getting used to this show lark, she was placed 2nd in the Open behind a very nice usual female with HUGE ear tufts so we cant complain at all. She posed for the public all day and was also awarded a 1st and a 2nd prize in the side classes.
It was a fantastic day for Abyssinians at the show, there were a massive 19 entered! Congratulations must also go to David and Louise Miskelly and their lovely sorrel girl Twiggy 'Glendavan She's Electric' for winning her final CC and title. Dorothy Harley's stunning boy Apollo 'Annera Onthebrightside' also won his third CC and title, a fitting tribute to his late breeder Caroline Macaulay who died suddenly a few weeks ago. |

Supreme Show
Saturday the 17th of November 2007
Imperial Grand Champion One Shot from A'far (One Shot)
Mr One Shot was made for the Supreme, he enjoyed every second of the attention and took the open ring judging in his stride, sparing time to give kisses and licks to his steward and judge. He was in a large class of super boys for the UK Grand and I was delighted when he managed to get 2nd place to the beautiful 'Imperial & International Grand Champion Nile Amun Ra', Ra won his second UK on the day and can now add that to his VERY impressive line of titles, well done to his owner Isobel. One Shot was also chosen as 'Best of Breed Sorrel Abyssinian Adult' and went forward to compete for the best of variety award. It was won by a nice Bombay in the end but we were delighted that One Shot got that far.
Champion Pontaby Fragola (Berry)
Another Grand for my beautiful Berry, the judge was very impressed with her and I was so happy to see that she handled well in the ring, given that she has never been to a Supreme show before. She also enjoyed all the attention at the show and lounging in her double pen.
Grand Premier Pontaby Pasticcio (Jasper)
Jasper was also attending his first Supreme show and like Berry, managed to win another Grand. Jasper was out representing 'team One Shot' along with his two half siblings who also did VERY well:
One Shot's usual boy Simon, 'GrPr Glendavan Azamour' won his first UK Grand Certificate and 'Best of Breed Usual Abyssinian Neuter', and last but not least Red, 'GrPr Rintinaby Red Herring' also won her UK Grand and 'Best of Breed Sorrel Abyssinian Neuter'.
It was quite a day for the Scottish exhibitors with Simon's house mate Twiggy 'Glendavan She's Electric' winning her first CC, and Gypsy, 'GrCh Abyglen Aroma Gypsy Queen' (owned by Ian and Caroline Thompson) winning her final UK Grand Certificate and title. |

One Shot knows he's a superstar!

Premier Pontaby Pasticcio (Jasper)
The fabulous Jasper, owned by Heather Kelsall, did really well on the day and won his third Grand Premier Certificate and title. Jasper also won the PC and 'Best of Breed Sorrel Neuter' and all firsts in his other classes. Heis the first ever sorrel 'Pontaby' cat to win a Grand title so we are naturally very proud.
Champion Pontaby Fragola (Berry)
My beautiful Berry has now surpassed herself, after winning her three CC's in three consecutive shows, she stunned me by winning her first Grand at her very first attempt!! She did really well to get the prize because the Grand class consisted of FIVE cracking cats. Berry also won her CC and 'Best of Breed Sorrel Adult' and was even nominated for Best in Section by her Open judge.
Pontaby Sognastella (Sonia)
Sonia did well again at her second show, she was placed 2nd in the Open class of three nice usual females. She strutted her stuff all day and caught the eye of quite a few passers by due to her 'cute factor'. She was also awarded 1st prize in a side class of 5 quality kittens.
Another winner on the day was One Shot's stunning usual son Simon, 'GrPr Glendavan Azamour' who won his second Imperial certificate, only three to go!

Premier Pontaby Ferragosto (Gus)
Gus gained another Reserve Grand Premier Certificate, but we cant complain becasue he was beaten by a stunning Russian blue. He was his usual relaxed and laidback self on the day and also won another Premier Certificate.
Nishalka Keria (Tabby)
Our lovely new blue baby did well at her very first show and gained the 1st prize and 'Best of Breed Blue Kitten'. Tabby was a wee bit worried at first about this new arrangement but she soon settled down and relaxed. She also bahaved very well with the judges and by the end of the day was snoozing like a show-pro.
Pontaby Sognastella (Sonia)
Our newest 'Pontaby' baby also made her debut at the show but wasn't as lucky as Tabby this time. She had some good competition in an older usual female aby kitten, oh well, there's always next time.
There weren't as many Abyssinians present at the show as we are used to in Scotland but it was a case of quality not quantity, special congratulations must go to Apollo 'Annera Onthebrightside' who won the title of 'Best Foreign Exhibit', his owner Dorothy was delighted. |

Champion Pontaby Fragola (Berry)
Straight after winning her title at Teesside, Berry had another good day and again won her CC and 'Best of Breed Sorrel Abyssinian Adult'. She also won two 2nd prizes in the 'Abyssinian Club' side classes, she was beaten by a lovely usual girl, 'Saladin Softngentle', owned and bred by Ian and Caroline Thompson, who gained her final CC and title on the day!!
Premier Pontaby Pasticcio (Jasper)
Our lovely sorrel One Shot son, owned by Heather Kelsall, made us proud again by winning his second Grand Premier Certificate, and also another PC and 'Best of Breed Sorrel Abyssinian Neuter. His big sister, 'GrPr Abyglen Aisling', also had a great day by winning her 4th Imperial Certificate.
Other notable Aby wins on the day came from Louise and David Miskelly, their boy 'GrPr Glendavan Azamour', another One Shot son, got the reserve Imperial Grand Premier Certificate plus 'Best of Breed Usual Abyssinian Neuter'. Their lovely Chocolate girl 'Abychat Walnutwhip' also did well by winning her Intermediate Certificate and 'Best of Breed Chocolate Abyssinian Adult'.

Pontaby Fragola (Berry)
At her first show for nearly a year Berry behaved beautifully and gained her final Challenge Certificate, and 'Best of Breed Sorrel Abyssinian Adult', making her a Champion. Berry is our first 'Pontaby' sorrel to win the title of Champion so we are very proud of her.
It was a good day for the Scottish Abys, with another new Champion on the day, 'Annera Malak' owned by Ian and Caroline Thompson. Also winning their first Imperial certificates were two of One Shot's kids, GrPr Glendavan Azamour, owned and bred by Louise and David Miskelly, and GrPr Rintinaby Red Herring, owned and bred by Christine Leith. |

Imperial Grand Champion One Shot from A'far (One Shot)
Even though One Shot had already won his qualifying Imperial Certificate at the Edinburgh show we couldn't resist a final visit to the Chester Show. He also won another Grand on the day, 'Best of Breed Sorrel Abyssinian Adult' and a 1st in a side class.
It was only two years ago that One Shot attended his first ever UK show at Chester and won his very first Challenge Certificate. I'm still amazed that he has come so far so quickly, but those who know him will agree that he is just a huge big sorrel bucket of charm so I can see why the judges were won over.
It was quite a full report last time so I left the details out, but we would like to take this opportunity to give HUGE thanks to all One Shot's Imperial judges:
Mrs S Bruin
Ms D Mastrangelo
Mme N Phalempin
Mme G Paquet
Mrs V Kilby
and Mrs S Bullock for his 'extra' one at Chester |

Grand Champion One Shot from A'far (One Shot)
Well, what can I say, I am the proud owner of the best cat on the planet. One Shot absolutely aced his final Imperial and gained his highest title so far with all the usual charm and cheekyness we all love him for. One Shot is now one of a select few Aby's to hold the title of Imperial, the youngest to do so so far and the first Abyssinian to win his qualifying Certificate on Scottish soil.He also won another Grand Certificate on the day and 'Best of Breed Sorrel Abyssinian Adult'. He has now reached the top level for showing and I can't take him any further at regular Championship shows. It would be a shame to completely retire One Shot because he really does love going to shows, so we will hopefully be bringing him out on exhibiton to some Scottish shows to meet and greet his fan club.
Premier Pontaby Pasticcio (Jasper)
Keeping it in the family at Edinburgh, One Shot's son Jasper also did very well and gained his first ever Grand Premier Certificate, another Premier Certificate and 'Best of Breed sorrel Neuter'. Congratulations also go to Jasper's big sister GrPr Abyglen Aisling on winning her third Imperial Certificate, only two to go!!
Premier Pontaby Ferragosto (Gus)
Gus also did well and gained the Reserve Grand Premier Certificate, he was just beaten by his cousin Jasper. I am obviously delighted to have two cats of our breeding take the top spots, Gus also won another Premier Certificate on the day.
Pontaby Viviana (Viva)
A HUGE well done to my pretty girl Viva on gaining her last Challenge Certificate and title on the day. Viva is due to have another litter of kittens soon so we were delighted that she was made up before her break. This is also a special win because Viva is the very first Pontaby cat to win the title of Champion, we are all very proud of her.
Pontaby Nesta (Lily)
The lovely Lily did it again and gained her second Premier Certificate at the show, we are delighted that she is doing so well, as are her owners Leanne and Ross.
There were also some other good results to be had on the day. Louise and David Miskelly's blue aby girl Bella 'Ch Nishalka Khu Miw-Sher' won her first Grand Challenge Certificate and her two fluffy friends Lola and Frosty both won their final CC's so it was a double Championship Celebration! |

Sorry, I couldn't resist giving his Imperial majesty a crown!

Saturday the 16th of June 2007
Grand Champion One Shot from A'far (One Shot)
Another attempt at Imperial for One Shot, but this time he wasn't as successful. The competition was really good with 4 nice boys in the class, the winner was GrCh Silversmoke Dan Dare, and the Reserve went to GrCh Wavetail Domino. Domino then went on to win the title of 'Best in Show Adult' and 'Overall Best in Show Exhibit' so we can't complain too much. One Shot as usual enjoyed every minute of the attention on show day and apart from the Imperial had a very good day. He won another Challenge Certificate in his Open, and gained 'Best of Breed Sorrel Abyssinian Adult' out of 5 cats, and also got 1st place in all three of his side classes. He also won two trophies.
Even though my boy didn't get the big prize it turned out to be a fantastic day for his kids:
Grand Premier Glendavan Azamour (Simon), owned by Louise and David Miskelly gained his final GrPC and title on the day, PC and 'Bob Usual neuter', firsts in all his side classes including the coveted 'Linquenda' class where he beat 8 other cats. Simon also won an amazing 9 trophies on the day and then went on to win 'Best in Show Neuter'. He certainly did his Daddy proud!!
Grand Premier Rintinaby Red Herring (Red), owned by Christine Leith also gained her final GrPC and title on the day, PC and 'Bob sorrel neuter', and firsts in two side classes.
Premier Pontaby Pasticcio (Jasper), owned by Heather Kelsall got the Reserve Grand Premier Certificate but since he came second to his half brother Simon it wasn't so bad. He also gained another PC and firsts in all his side classes. Huge congratulations also go to Jasper's big sister GrPr Abyglen Aisling who won her second Imperial Certificate on the day.
The Aby show is always a great social occasion, and especially so when our cats do well, as you can imagine there was quite a bit of celebrating to be done on the journey home to Scotland.

Premier Pontaby Ferragosto (Gus)
While we were all celebrating down in Stratford, Gus and his owner Lona were flying the Pontaby flag up in the lakes. Gus the superstar had another fantastic day, he won his second Grand Premier Certificate, another PC, 'Best of Breed Usual Abyssinian Neuter', and firsts in ALL of his side classes. But he decided not to stop there, Gus then went on to win the prize for 'Best of Variety Foreign Neuter', what a clever boy! |

Grand Champion One Shot from A'far (One Shot)
One Shot the superstar strikes again!! I am still in delighted shock that my wonderful boy has managed to win his FOURTH Imperial Grand Challenge Certificate. I also cant quite believe that he has won four in a row!!I One Shot was his usual self on the day and loved every minute of the attention from us and all the passers by. In addition to his Imperial, he also won another Challenge Certificate, 'Best of Breed Sorrel Abyssinian Adult', and a 1st in a side class.
Champion Abychat Honeycomb (Honey)
I wasn't initially too hopeful for Honey on show day but in the morning she was looking lovely. She did surprise me by winning her second Grand Challenge Certificate in a class of three lovely girls. Honey also won another Challenge Certificate, 'Best of Breed Fawn Abyssinian Adult', and one 1st and a 2nd in her side classes.
The show also brought good results for some other nice cats. Congratulations go to Louise and David Miskelly, their lovely usual neuter boy 'Premier Glendavan Azamour', who is actually One Shot's son, won his second Grand Premier Certificate, and their lovely blue female 'Nishalka Khu Miw-Sher' won her 3rd and qualifying Challenge Certificate on the day. Extra special congratulations go to Elisabeth Stark and her gorgeous Russian Blue neuter boy 'Grand Premier Dushenka Oliver' who won his first ever Imperial Grand Premier Certificate on his first try. Well done Boo-boo! |

Grand Champion One Shot from A'far (One Shot)
I was really nervous this time because One Shot was competing against a lovely Singapura boy, I thought the result could go either way. The judge must have had trouble deciding too because it was quite late in the day before the result was up. To say I was VERY relieved when he won was the understatement of the century. I am stunned at how well One Shot is doing so far with his Imperials, he has now won three in a row!! He also won another Challenge Certificate, 'Best of Breed Sorrel Abyssinian Adult', and two futher 1st's in his side classes completing his 'red card' day. Well done again my clever boy!!
Premier Pontaby Ferragosto (Gus)
Gus was a superstar today, he was entered in the Grand Class with 4 other boys and we were all delighted when he came away with the Certificate. He also won another Premier Certificate and 'Best of Breed Usual Abyssinian Neuter', then went on to win ALL of his side classes. His owner Lona and I were hugging and dancing in celebration!!
Pontaby Viviana (Viva)
Another surprising result today was my pretty Viva, I wasn't convinced she would win anything because she was a bit upset about the other cats in the morning and was a bit growly. She did really well though, winning her Challenge Certificate in a class of three nice girls, she also got two more firsts and a third in her side classes.
Pontaby Nesta (Lily)
Our last certificate winner of the day but certainly not the least was our lovely Choccy Siamese girl Lily, shown by her owners Leanne and Ross. Lily gained her very first Premier Certificate and 'Best of Breed Chocolate Siamese Neuter'.
Also attending the show were Jasper (Premier Pontaby Pasticcio), Sleepy (Pontaby Sognatore) and Indianna (Pontaby Cannavaro). They weren't as lucky in their Open classes but managed to win a few prizes on the day. We are always pleased to see our babies out on show representing the breed and we are proud of them regardless of what they win.

Grand Champion One Shot from A'far (One Shot)
I was a bit aprehensive in the morning of this show because One Shot's pen number was 13, but what can I say? The boy did it again!! One Shot is really excelling himself now and has gained his second Imperial Grand Certificate in quick succession after the first. He also won another Challenge Certificate, 'Best of Breed Sorrel Abyssinian Adult', and two futher 1st's in his side classes. Well done my clever boy!!
Champion Abychat Honeycomb (Honey)
Honey also did very well, she gained a reserve Grand Certificate, CC, 'Best of Breed fawn Abyssinian Adult', and one 1st and a 2nd in her side classes.
It's always a pleasure to be at an 'Aby' show to chat with other breeders and celebrate some lovely cats winning much deserved prizes. Our congratulations in particular go to Isobel Hansell's lovely Sorrel girl UK GrCh Nishalka Fiera on gaining her Imperial Grand Certificate. GrCh Wavetail Domino, who had a super day winning his Qualifying Grand Certificate and then going on to scoop 'Best Abyssinian Adult' and 'Overall Best Abyssinian'. Well done to his owner Mrs Shakespeare-Ensor and his breeder Margaret Pollet. Congratulations also go to Mrs Pollet's sorrel female GrCh Koperkat Regina Fillangie (Domino's mother) on winning her final, and qualifying Grand Certificate on the day. |

Pontaby Campanula (Cami)
Our winner today was the beautiful blue girly Cami, who gained her second Challenge Certificate and 'Best of Breed Blue Abyssinian Adult'.
Pontaby Viviana (Viva)
Viva was also enetred in the show, but lost out on her Challenge Certificate this time. We don't mind too much though because the cat who beat her was Dorothy Harley's 'Abyglen Aleta', and is Viva's half sister. Congratulations to 'Treasure' on winning her second CC. |

50th GOLDEN JUBILEE SHOW
Saturday the 10th of February 2007
Well, what a start to the 2007 show year!! After a very nerve wracking run up to this show I was rewarded 10 fold by my wonderful boy One Shot. He actually reduced me to tears of joy by winning his very first Imperial Grand Challenge Certificate on his first try. He also lived up to his reputation on the day by winning one of the Club's 'Special Golden' classes for 'Good as Gold Adult - cat with the best temperament'. He acted like the true celebrity all day and gained a few 'extra prizes' from his adoring fan club. Thanks very much for his 'Dushenka Specials' and 'Auntie Ellen Special' rosette.
We also had some more good results on the day from Premier Pontaby Ferragosto (Gus) who won his first Reserve Grand Premier Certificate in a VERY high quality group of 5 neuter boys. Gus also won another Premier Certificate. His pal Jasper (Premier Pontaby Pasticcio) also won another PC and Best of Breed Sorrel Neuter.
It was a very good day for Abyssinians in general, with a HUGE number of 22 entered, a fantastic result for the breed!! Congratulations go to Louise and David Miskelly's 'Riverfern Lord of Kobal' on winning his CC and Best of Breed Usual Adult, and Dorothy Harleys 'Abyglen Aleta' on winning her first CC. |
