This was another great show for us with 5 Pontaby's in attendance. The star winner was Duncan who won 'Best Foreign Kitten', though all three kittens got Best of Breed. Rico gained another Challenge Certificate and Berry her won 1st Premier Certificate with new owner Lona.

Pontaby Alessandro (Duncan) - Undoubtedly the 'Pontaby Star of the Show', Duncan won his Open class getting 1st and 'Best of Breed Usual Abyssinian Kitten', then he surprised us all by going on to win 'Best Foreign Kitten'. This was a great end to his show career as a kitten, I can't wait to see how he does as an adult next year.

IGrCh Pontaby Fragola (Berry) - Berry showed us all that she certainly hadn't lost her touch since being neutered. At her first show for new owner Lona, she won her first Premier Certificate and 'Best of Breed Sorrel Abyssinian Neuter'. Here's hoping it's not the last!

GrCh Pontaby Enrico (Rico) - Rico's very first attempt at Imperial and I wasn't really expecting him to get anything, he is still a bit young to be beating the big boys in the top class. He did win another Challenge Certificate however and two first prizes in his side classes.

Pontaby Ginevra (Orlagh) - Orlagh had a great day getting lots of attention from both judges and visitors, she is such a soppy girl. She won her Open class and got 'Best of Breed Sorrel Abyssinian Kitten'.

Pontaby Montagna (Monty) - Monty enjoyed yet another good show day, he won 1st place and 'Best of Breed Fawn Abyssinian Kitten' in his open, and also 2 firsts and a second in his side classes. The judges obviously had a soft spot for such a cuddly boy.

Supreme Show

What a day! One Shot was an absolute star and finally won his UK title in style, Rico won another Grand, and Jasper took Best of Breed Sorrel Abyssinian Neuter.

IGrCh One Shot from A'far (One Shot) - Watching judging at the Supreme is always very exciting and tense and this year was no exception. I waited beside the ring with my heart in my throat as the judge assessed One Shot and the three lovely usual boys in a VERY strong UK class. When she announced that he was the winner I actually cried with relief. I'm so proud of the boy, after four Supreme outings he finally got his last UK and title. Of course he displayed typical 'One Shotness' all day, posing on his 'purple crown' cushion and showing off for the passers by. Having gained this highest title he can now retire from competitive showing but I may bring him out on exhibition from time to time to meet his fans!

Ch Pontaby Enrico (Rico) - Rico really enjoyed his first Supreme experience, he lapped up all the attention from the visitors and was a star in the show ring, winning another Grand Challenge certificate. I think he also had a good time in his extra big show pen, though he decided to 'dismantle' his fancy drapes half way through the day, cheeky monkey!

IGrPr Pontaby Pasticcio (Jasper) - Unfortunately Jasper didn't win the UK Grand this time but he did get the 'Best of Breed' award for sorrel Abyssinian Neuter.

A special mention must also go to the lovely sorrel baby Lottie who despite being the only Abyssinian kitten in the show managed to win the 'Best of Variety Foreign Kitten' award. Congratulations to her owners David and Louise Miskelly and also her breeder Shirley Evans.

Pontaby Montagna (Monty) - At only his second show Monty had another great day. He won his Open class and 'Best of Breed fawn Kitten' again and then managed to get first prizes in all of his other classes, giving him a 'Red Card Day'

Very special congratulations must go to Monty's Russian housemate Xaria (Pr Dushenka Xariabella), who won 'Best Foreign Neuter' and then went on to get 'Best Foreign Exhibit'.

To say that Rico had a great day in Brampton is a bit of an understatement, he is now a Grand Champion!! The other Pontabys also did very well on the day, with Mina gaining her final CC and title and Monty doing us proud on his show debut. Rico 3rd Grand, CC Bob, red card day lucky pen! Mina 3rd CC champion. Montagna show debut 1st and BoB.

Ch Pontaby Enrico (Rico) - Against all the odds, the baby boy has done it. He won his last Grand in style and gained his title at just over 14 months old, I'm still in shock! To top it all, Rico also won another CC on the day, 'Best of Breed usual Abyssinian Adult', firsts in all of his side classes and the prize in the lucky pen number draw.

Pontaby Luciana (Mina) - Mina also had a wonderful day, she won her third CC, making her a Champion finally! Many thanks to her owner Heather for bringing her out, it was well worth it!

Pontaby Montagna (Monty) - What a debut for the fawn baby, he won his Open class and got 'Best of Breed fawn Abyssinian Kitten' plus some good results in his side classes. From what we heard, all the judges were quite taken with him.His new owners Heather and Richard were also delighted to take him home from the show.

It was a really good day for the other Abys too. Congratulations to the lovely blue boy Ringo (Nishalka Khepri) and fawn female Fudge (Syrinx Arianna) who also gained their Champion titles. Not forgetting the pretty sorrel kitten Blaze (Abderus Blazing Chaos) who won her 'Best of Breed' but was also nominated for 'Best of Variety'.

Another great day for Pontaby cats, Rico managed to win his second Grand against some tough competition and the babies Duncan and Orlagh both won their Open classes.

Champion Pontaby Enrico (Rico) - The winning streak continues! The baby boy did it again, and this time he was VERY lucky, managing to beat a stunning and more mature usual lad, it must be the charming personality that does it. Rico also won another CC on the day.

Pontaby Alessandro (Duncan) - His second show and another great day for Duncan. He won his Open class and got 'Best of Breed Usual Abyssinian Kitten'. He enjoyed the showing experience again and lapped up all the attention.

Pontaby Ginevra (Orlagh) - Orlagh also enjoyed her second show, she also won her Open class and got 'Best of Breed Sorrel Abyssinian Kitten'.

Although we weren't able to enter any of our own cats at this shows we were still well represented by Pontaby cats thanks to their owners. Arwen won her 2nd Grand certificate, Kami didn't place in the Grand but got first in her Open and Dylan made his very first show appearance.

Pr Pontaby Isabella (Arwen) - Arwen wasn't really in the best of moods on the day but her Grand judge still thought she was the best in the class, thanks to her owner Margaret for bringing her along.

Ch & Pr Pontaby Campanula (Kami) - Kami was unlucky in the Grand, being beaten by Arwen, but she still managed to gain 1st prize in her Open class.

Pontaby Lorenzo (Dylan) - Dylan made his show debut in Milgavie and enjoyed every minute of the attention. He was just beaten in the Open by a stunning usual boy so we can't complain. Thanks to Shannon for bringing him along to the show.

Congratulations must also go to Glendavan Kaiser Soeze for gaining his Grand title on the day and his son Glendavan Roderick-Jaynes who won 'Best Foreign Exhibit'. Their breeders Louise and David were unable to attend the show on the day as they were very busy at home welcoming their new baby son into the world!

Not such a baby anymore, Rico won his very first Grand Certificate at his very first try and a 'Red Card Day'. His half sister Mina also won a CC and the two babies Duncan and Orlagh made their show debut.

Pontaby Enrico (Rico) - I really wasn't expecting the boy to win his Grand because he is still so young but the judge obviously though he was worth it. Rico also won another CC and 'Best of Breed Usual Abyssinian Adult', plus he went on to win all of his other classes, what a star!

Pontaby Luciana (Mina) - Mina did well again and gained her second CC at the show, she was just beaten to the BoB by her little brother Rico.

Pontaby Alessandro (Duncan) - Duncan had an absolute ball at his first ever show, showing off to the passes by and even making friends with his pretty Russian female kitten neighbour. He also won first prize in his Open class.

Pontaby Ginevra (Orlagh) - Orlagh enjoyed her first show day as much as her brother Duncan, and she also won first place in her Open class.

Pontaby Enrico (Rico) - Well done again to Rico on winning yet another CC and 'Best of Breed Usual Abyssinian Adult'.

Another lovely day in sunny Chester, it's always the show for a picnic by the river. To add to the great weather we had a great result, a new Champion!!

Pontaby Enrico (Rico) - The baby boy did it yet again! He charmed his judge in the Open class to win his 3rd CC and 'Best of Breed Usual Abyssinian Adult'. Rico can now claim the title of Champion and he is the first ever male Pontaby to do so. Many thanks to his three judges for awarding him; Helen Marriott-Power, Steve Parkin and Margaret Rodger.

Ch Pontaby Viviana (Viva) - Viva joined us to Chester for her first show outing this year and although she didn't place in the Grand class she behaved herself and managed to gain another CC as well.

To say we had a good day in Stafford would be a gross understatement! Not only did Rico stun me yet again by winning his second CC, but the baby boy Julian exceeded everyone's expectations by winning best kitten at his very first show. I have a 'proud breeder' grin plastered across my face!

Pontaby Severus (Julian) - It was a great day for both of the baby boys but Julian really pushed the boat out. I'm more than delighted that he did so well at the breed show, especially on his very first outing. Julian won hs open class and took 'Best of Breed usual Abyssinian Kitten' over two females and also had a red card day winning all of his classes, winning 'Best Kitten in Show' was just the icing on the cake. I'm so grateful to my newest kitten owners Carole and Jean for bringing both Julian and his brother Duncan to the show, I'm hoping that after such a good day they will become hooked on showing!

Pontaby Enrico (Rico) - I am beginning to realise that I really don't give my boy enough credit. He was lucky to be the only pre-Champion usual boy in the show (it was lovely to be in pen number 1!) but still very deserving of his award, many thanks to his judge Steve. Rico also managed to turn on the charm with the duty vet to be chosen as her choice of usual Aby and awarded a lovely trophy for being such a sweetie.

Pontaby Remus (Duncan) - Duncan didn't do quite as well as his brother Julian, coming second in his open and second in all of his side classes. However did beat some very nice cats in the bigger side classes. I have a soft spot for chunky sorrels and Duncan reminds me sooo much of his grandmother Berry that I'll defnately be rooting for him at the next show!

Imperial Grand Champion One Shot from A'far
Imperial Grand Premier Pontaby Pasticco

As well as the three Pontabys in competition we were delighted to have Jasper on exhibiton (thanks to Heather for bringing him down to Stratford for the day), and of course we also had a rare outing for Mr Shot himself! One Shot had an absolute ball at the show, lapping up all the attention, many thanks to everyone who came along to say hello!

We also have HUGE congratulations to give to Chrstine Leith and her lovely sorrel girl Red, also a child of One Shot, who won her final and qualifyng Imperial certificate on the day. After a hard slog to get to the top, with a couple of reserves on the way, we were all very relieved when that result came in!

The boy star did it again, and shocked me by winning his first CC and Best of Breed at only two days over 9 months!

Pontaby Enrico (Rico) - What can say, such a CLEVER boy!! I was naturally a bit reserved in my estimations for the baby's very first adult show because he is not a huge boy and still very young. I need not have been worried, he did an excellent job charming his judge, she told me he was a 'wonderful boy', and won his very first CC and also 'Best of Breed Usual Abyssinian Adult'.

Another great day for Pontaby Abyssinians. The star of the show was Gus who finally won his Imperial Grand Premier title on the day, but not to be outdone, his little sister Kami scooped her very first Grand Premier certificate. Rico also won his 1st prize and Best of Breed.

GrPr Pontaby Ferragosto (Gus) - Another nervous show morning once we discovered who the competition was. Gus wasn't worried though, he delighted us all by winning his 5th and final certificate in real style by beating a superb UK and Imperial GrPr Russian Blue boy to the prize. As if that wasn't enough, Gus also won his Open class, PC and 'Best of Breed usual Abyssinian Neuter' and 1st prizes in all of his side classes, before being nominated for BIS and then winning the title of Best of Variety Foreign Neuter!

Ch & Pr Pontaby Campanula (Kami) - Kami did us proud by winning her very first Grand Premier Certificate on the day. She also won another PC on the day and 'Best of Breed Blue Abyssinian Neuter'.

Pontaby Enrico (Rico) - Well, another good day for the Boy Wonder. At his last show as a kitten Rico won his 1st prize, and Best of Breed usual Abyssinian Kitten in a class of three lovely boys. He also managed two 2nd prizes in his side classes. As usual he was a complete charmer all day and attracted the attention of many of the visitors.

Pontaby Luciana (Mina) - Mina was second place in her open class but she was up against a beautiful and very deserving usual girly. I think she was more interested in the lovely usual boy penned next to her than pleasing the judges, and who can blame her!

A very successful day for Mina, who won her CC and Best of Breed, and another 1st prize for Rico.

Pontaby Luciana (Mina) - The little girl done good! After a few shows where she was placed second in her open class, Mina finally got her chance. She did us proud by winning her very first CC and also Best of Breed Usual Abyssinian Adult.

Pontaby Enrico (Rico) - Rico was hs usual show off self on the day. He managed to win his 1st prize in the kitten class but was just pipped to the Best of Breed by a beautiful usual female kitten.

Another successful day for the little boy, and another Best of Variety win, he is really getting the hang of this showing lark.

Pontaby Enrico (Rico) - Well, show number three and yet again Rico failed to disappoint. He showed off to all the visitors and impressed the judges, winning his 1st prize, Best of Breed usual kitten and 1sts in all of his side classes. He then decided that it might be fun to win Best Foreign Kitten! After his Best in Show award at the ACA we were delighted that he managed another one, especially at an all breed show!

Attending an Abyssinian breed show is always an exciting event and this was no exception. It was a fantastic day for the baby boy Rico, who did us proud by making it all the way to Best in Show kitten! His Mum Tabby also did really well, winning her third CC and Championship on the day.

Pontaby Enrico (Rico) - At only his second ever show Rico pulled out all the stops and charmed everyone again. He did really well to win his 1st prize and Best of Breed usual kitten and then took first prizes in all of his side classes. We were already more than delighted with his red card day but Rico had to go one better and took Best in Show Kitten too. He very much enjoyed his show day and lapped up all the attention again. Well done baby boy!

Nishalka Keria (Tabby) - Tabby had a great day too, she won her third CC on her third attempt so is now a Champion, gaining her title in straight shows. She missed out on the Best of Breed this time but as it went to to her half sister Bella who won the Imperial on the day, we were delighted for her and her owners the Miskellys.

GrCh Pontaby Fragola (Berry) - Berry attended the show along with the others as planned but was taken out of the Imperial class to allow others a chance since she already won her title at the Scottish. She won another CC on the day and 'Best of Breed Sorrel Adult'.

The first event of the Scottish show calander, and a great day for Pontaby Abyssinians. The unquestionable star was Berry who won her Imperial title, but her full brother Gus and her daughter Arwen also did the family proud by winning their certificates. It was also another good day for our blue girl Tabby who won her second CC, and the baby boy Rico made his showing debut on the day.

GrCh Pontaby Fragola (Berry) - What appeared to be an impossible task in the morning proved to be no problem to my super star sorrel girl. She won her 5th and final certificate in real style by beating a stunning UK and Imperial GrCh Russian Blue female to the prize. Berry has now made her own piece of history by becoming the very first entire female Abyssinian to gain the title of Imperial Grand Champion. She is a beautiful and gentle ambassador for her breed and we couldn't be prouder of her achievement. Berry won all three of her other classes, 'Best of Breed Sorrel Abyssinian Adult' and was nominated for BIS to complete her red card day.

GrPr Pontaby Ferragosto (Gus) - Not to be outdone by his sister Berry, Gus pulled out all the stops and won his own Imperial Certificate. His owner Lona was delighted to see her boy win his 4th Imperial, just one more to go now! Gus also won 'Best of Breed Usual Abyssinian Neuter' and was nominated for BIS along with his sister.

Pr Pontaby Isabella (Arwen) - Keeping it in the family, Arwen did us all proud by winning her first Grand Premier certificate at her very first try. Congratulations to her and her owner Margaret.

Ch & Pr Pontaby Campanula (Kami) - Kami was just beaten to the Grand Premier Certificate on this occasion by her niece Arwen but as breeders of both of these lovely girls we were delighted to take both the Grand and Reserve for our prefix. Kami also won another PC on the day and 'Best of Breed Blue Abyssinian Neuter'.

Nishalka Keria (Tabby) - Tabby did it again, on her second attempt she won her Challenge Certificate and 'Best of Breed Blue Abyssinian Adult'. Only one more to go now!

Pontaby Enrico (Rico) - Rico had a ball at his very first show, he posed like a pro and lapped up all the attention from passers by. He won his 1st prize in the kitten class but was just pipped to the Best of Breed by a charming usual female. Because he is so like his Dad One Shot I am very much looking forward to taking him out to more shows this year, it is always wonderful to exhibit a cat who enjoys the whole experience as much as he does.
